By using active-sense technology and an acoustical ice-sensing probe, the Manitowoc Ice IYT0900W-261/D970/K00470 Indigo® NXT™ half-cube ice machine regulates cube thickness to generate consistent ice production. When incoming water is 50 degrees and air is 70 degrees, it can produce a maximum of 785 pounds of half-cube ice; which measures 3⁄8 of an inch by 11⁄8 inches by 7⁄8 of an inch and can be bagged or used in soft drinks or cocktails. Operators can program the unit to turn off at a set time to conserve energy and save money. Ice production volume is controlled with an icon-based touchscreen display. For optimal performance, this unit runs diagnostics and preventive maintenance 24 hours per day.

The ice machine head measures 30 inches wide by 241⁄2 inches deep by 261⁄2 inches tall and features a DuraTech™ exterior that resists corrosion and conceals unsightly smudges and dirt to ease cleaning. The hinged front door opens to the foodzone, where users can access the removable sensing probes, curtain, distribution tube, and water trough; some of these components are treated with AlphaSan® antimicrobial to slow bacterial growth between cleanings.

The Manitowoc Ice IYT0900W-261/D970/K00470 ice machine with bin's storage area measures 48 inches wide by 34 inches deep by 50 inches tall overall and boasts a 29.7-cubic-foot interior to accommodate 882 pounds of ice. To simplify cleaning, the interior is built with an arctic blue polyurethane liner. The bin's door uses a self-latching mechanism to remain in an open position while staff retrieve ice. So staff can reach the bottom of the unit, the door is angled 53 degrees. Its included scoop is built with a molded retaining lip to maximize scooping capacity, and the thumb and knuckle guard prevent users' hands from coming into contact with ice. The base is also finished with DuraTech to complement the ice maker head and ease cleaning.
