The Manitowoc Ice IYT0500A Indigo NXT™ ice maker head utilizes an air-cooled condenser system, and in a 24-hour period, it can produce 550 pounds of half-dice ice, which is plenty of product for small restaurants. On the front of the unit, the head's easyTouch® touch screen display enables programming, including setting an after-hours inactivity state, adjusting quotas by daily ice volume, and troubleshooting problems with diagnostic tools.

Cubes are created when water runs over the evaporator grid, freezes in place, and then falls into an ice bin below, which is sold separately. An acoustical ice sensing probe monitors cube thickness for the Manitowoc IYT0500A commercial ice machine head, ensuring consistent production regardless of water conditions. The DuraTech® exterior beats stainless steel at corrosion resistance and features a clear coat to combat dirt stains and fingerprint smudges. For streamlined cleaning, key elements inside the unit are removable.
