If ambient air is 70 degrees Fahrenheit and incoming water is 50 degrees Fahrenheit, the Manitowoc Ice IDT0450W ice maker can produce 430 pounds in 24 hours. The higher the temperature of the air and water, the less ice the unit will produce each cycle. It makes dice ice—also called full-cube ice—for drinks, dispensing, and bagging. Its condenser is water cooled, so it is more difficult to install than air-cooled models but runs more efficiently if the required water is available.

The Manitowoc Ice IDT0450W full-cube ice machine head includes an acoustical ice sensing probe that uses sound waves to detect the thickness of ice. This energy-efficient unit can be programmed by ice volume or to shut off at certain times of the day through its icon-based touchscreen display. The foodzone and DuraTech® coated exterior is easy to clean, resisting fingerprints and dirt and including removable accessories. To ensure this unit is in optimal shape, 24-hour diagnostics and preventive maintenance are performed.
